Allyson & Shane Shoemaker Wedding
The third wedding of the year. I was the DJ for this event and was behind where the actual ceremony took place. It made for some interesting angles, but not ideal. I was the Dj for this wedding so I didn’t move much. I think I got a couple decent shots.
The wedding was held at Bricktown Events. It was the first time I was there for a wedding. They had it beautifully decorated with a rustic flavor. A couple of the things I really liked about this place was the wooden chairs and tables. Something I believe is supplied by Bricktown Events. Also the bride and bridesmaids have a nice room to get ready. When the bride walks down the aisle, the double doors are opened near the front of the building and there is a very nice long walk to the ceremony location. It really looks nice that way. Currently I do not have any other events booked at this venue, but looking forward to the next chance I would have. I really hope this venue becomes successful.
One thing different about this wedding was I was able to attend the rehearsal. You can see a couple of the photos here. That made for a smoother ceremony the following day. It’s unfortunate I can not be at every rehearsal, but schedules prohibit that.
There was ample lighting in this facility after the overhead fluorescents were turn on over the ceremony. During the rehearsal I did mention that it looked a little dark. When I came in the next day they had managed to fix things. I am glad they didn’t turn all the fluorescent lights on, I think it would have given a cafeteria lighting feel. The lights that are not fluorescent give the room a nice warm feel. I didn’t use a flash for this event and the natural light then fell on the bride did create a bit of a rim light which I thought was nice.
I’ll have more photos that I will share on my facebook photo page in the future, just like to get a few in a blog post within a couple days of the wedding.
