Dalton & Julisa – Wedding
I have done a lot of weddings with people I have known for a very long time. With this wedding, I have known Julisa for many years. In fact, I was the dj for her 16th birthday party. I also did the DJ work for her older sister who was the matron of honor for this wedding. As with most weddings on this web page I was not the primary photographer. I played the music and captured these from the dj table.
With that being said, the wedding was held at Union Grove near Broad Top. The wedding was to be an outdoor wedding with the scene of Trough Creek in the background. Unfortunately the weather for this day was not cooperating. The temperature was around 54 degrees, windy and a good chance of rain. About an hour and a half prior to the 4 pm start time, the decision was made to keep it inside. Fortunately the facility worked well for the ceremony. The tables were divided down the center and the guests lined each side with cameras raised.
Mike Watkins was the master of ceremony for the day and did a nice job. Later he told me that he was a relative of both sides of the family. He thought things might be more difficult for this kind of a service. I think things went perfect and he pronounced them man and wife. I was providing a sound system for the service and was out of camera range for the service. Sadly I didn’t get photos from the service, but first duties come first.
After the photographer took photos outside the introductions happened, a toast by several members of the wedding part and then dinner. Afterwards we had the traditional dances cutting of the cake and the groom throwing the garter three or four times. Seems single men at this wedding were not as interested in catching it. Only after one of the groomsmen caught it did he find out he was to put it on the leg of the woman, a bridesmaid’s, leg. As you can see in one of the photos, he needed help.
The night went well with dancing until 11 pm. and the mother of the bride and her other daughter talked about that daughter getting married. I am lucky and thankful to have been able to get to know and be a part of so many weddings over the many years. Thanks and good luck for an amazing future!
