Jaymee And Kyle – Wedding
This wedding was held at the beautiful Spring House Farm in Path Valley or Spring Run. This wedding would be like no other I have been around. Not even when it comes to the DJ work. There was noting we could do about it, so I will talk about it first.
It was a hazy hot and humid day. So warm we showed up VERY early to set things up. On this day I was doing double duty as the DJ and the photographer. I think it was around 11 am when we got to the Spring House Farm. It was already approaching 80. The wedding was scheduled for 4:30 and we were holding our breath, crossing our fingers and everything else we could think of for the weather to hold out. Well about 2:30 the clouds broke open and dumped everything they had on us. For around a half an hour to 40 minutes we got pounded. Check the video below for some footage from my iphone. I have never been in storm with that much heavy rain and wind. We were lucky that it stopped and cleared up in time for the 4:30 wedding.
Before and after the storm
As mentioned I was to do the DJ and photography work, so we did arrive early and set up the dj things. We then went to the house and got some pics of Jaymee getting ready and the dresses rings and so on. We snagged the brides dress and made our way to the barn where we hung it and got a few pics. We took that back and then shot a few more inside the farm house.
After that I walked over to the barn area which was nicely decorated and something new since the last time we were at the Spring Farm House. They had pull down sides to shield the tables from the elements. Wow did that come in handy later. I got a few shots of the tables and the decorations then went to the back of the barn area and got a few. They had it nicely decorated as well. I think we were fortunate that when taking photos of the tables they were not filled with plates cups and decorations. Even with the new pull down sides there is no doubt things would have been flying away with the wind. The table clothes actually did get wet but the owner of the facility grabbed them and took them to the fryer and had them back in plenty of time.
The Wedding
I know it’s going to be a great wedding when the groom sheds a tear or two. That happened and it was a great moment. This happened after the groom walked his mother and step- mother to their seats.
The Groomsman walked in from the barn side of the building and then the bridesmaids maid their way in from the opposite side. Then as everyone stood, the bride made her way to the wedding in a jeep driven by her dad. She then walked through the doors that were placed and I could see she was about to cry.
Her dad and her made their way down to the rest of the wedding party and the ceremony began. The couple wrote their own wedding vows and after reciting them they exchanged rings. The rest of the ceremony went off without a hitch. It was a first kiss and then off to get some family photos.
After the wedding
We used a giant tree and a fence for the backdrop of the family photos. We spent about 30 minutes taking these photos as we wanted to make sure to get every combination of family, friends and relative the new couple wanted.
After that we spent about 20 minutes of photos with the new couple then off to the reception just a few yards away.
I have to give a shout out to my wife, who without I would be lost in many ways. She was on the dj equipment for me while I made introductions. Kyle and Jaymee came in and did their first dance then sat for some dinner.
After Dinner the toasts were made, cutting the cake and other formal dances. I was sure glad we were able to be a part of this as Kyles family has been friends for many years. Before he was Kyle’s age his dad actually lived about 150 yards from my home.
