Kara & Cody Wedding
Just when you are getting use to the hot weather wedding season, mother nature changes her mind and brings in a cool day. This was the case on September 23rd, 2018. We were booked (dj) at the beautiful Union Grove facility near Broad Top for the wedding of Kara & Cody. Just a few weeks ago we were here and the weather was rainy and foggy, yet even with the fog in the background as a giant white curtain this place still made for a beautiful site.
We were set and ready to go about 45 minutes after we arrived and folks started showing up a little earlier that usual, which is a good thing. There were lots of kids and they were having lots of fun running up and down the aisle and in and . out of the building.
It came time for the ceremony and things calmed down. Th pastor, Bill Benson, walked the groom and groomsmen down and they took their position on the right. Next the bridesmaids in blue dresses and fall colored bouquets. At this wedding the flower girls and ring bearers did an excellent job with only a minor hiccup. One of the ring bearers was pulling a flower girl in a wagon. I believe it got a little heavier or stuck when he was trying to make his way to the ceremony. IN came a groomsman to the rescue and off they went.
Bill does a great job with the ceremony. I have been fortunate to be present at many he has performed. He did an anointing of the rings and a blessing for the couple. The ceremony was just right and when he said I give you the New Mr. & Mrs. Cody Chilcote, the new couple were all smiles as the guests cheered and they made their way back to the barn.
At the reception we proceeded with the meal and then toasts. Both the best man and the maid of honor and another of the bridesmaids did a great job. Next was the first dance, Jimmie Allen, Best Shot, excellent song. The bride and her dad were next. I always look for tears. I didn’t see any this time, but mom and the groom were next and it was a different story for her.
Thank . you to both Cody and Kara for letting me be a part of the day and want to wish them the best. As always I’ll post a bunch more photos on my photography facebook page and hope you enjoy them. Thank you if you managed to read all of this and thank YOU for doing so.
