Dakota & Anna – Wedding
We had a pretty bad threat of rain early in the week for this wedding and were expecting things to be held under a tent. Mother nature held off and it turned from a nice day into a beautiful night.
The wedding was held at the Spring House in Spring Run PA. It’s a beautiful venue and the owner take a lot of pride in making sure everything is perfect.
The wedding was held in the field near the Spring House House and things went off without a hitch. The bride was escorted from the house to the area where the wedding would take place. There they had a pair of doors for her to walk through and the seats were bales of hay. She walked up to the pastor and wedding party who were waiting for her in front of a cross draped with white lace..It was a beautiful ceremony. I was near the house which is about 25 yards from where the event took place. I tried to capture some unique views since I was constrained to where I was since I was providing music for the event.
The couple had a receiving line and then after some photos made their way to the back of the barn for introductions and then directly to the dance floor for a first dance. Most time when I have been to the Spring House, I have had my back to the beautiful mountain scene. As you can see in the photos, this time I was looking at the mountains and the bridal party had backs to the mountain. This really mad a beautiful backdrop. I can only imagine what it will look like when someone does that with the fall colors as a back drop.
After the dinner it was dads turn to dance with the bride then the mom and groom. We did the other activities of the toasts, the cutting of the cake and so on. Only when it came to the garter did things get interesting. When the groom threw the garter over his shoulder, it went up, not back toward the single men. It went up and got stuck. One of the single men was lifted and he was awarded the garter for being so brave.[intense_video id=”Cross Video” video_type=”youtube” video_url=”https://youtu.be/2-R-AMPy7MU” theme=”light” user=”Rick Hamilton” loop=”1″ autoplay=”1″]
After the formal dances and so on was just dancing, dancing and more dancing. It was a fun night and eve a shirt came off. I told the gentleman that I got a shot of him shirtless and he ask I post it so he could show his “old man”.
Thanks to Dakota and Anna for having me. I hope they had as much fun as I did and hope they have a happily ever after.
I’ll post more photos on my facebook page in the near future. You can see them at facbook.com/rhpic
