Maternity Photos on a Rainy Day
It’s not always sunny in Huntingdon Pennsylvania and when the soon to be mom is a VERY soon to be mom, you have to take maternity photos when you can. That was the way things were with Daniele. She is a co-worker with my wife. Since my wife sees her almost everyday she set up the date for this shoot. It just so happened that there were severe thunderstorm warnings for this day. My wife said, we need to do this even though she is not due for a couple week, I’m afraid she’ll have the baby and we will miss the chance to get the pictures. So we did it. Between showers.
We made our way to Edgewater Acres. A beautiful place where just last year Daniele and her husband were married. I started scoping out the area when we were coming down the long lane to the barn at Edgewater. I saw the barn was open so we headed there first. We shot a few different poses in the door and then under the lights hangin inside the barn.
As we were walking toward the main building, I noticed some water laying next to the walk into the building. I had the couple stand next to it so I could see their reflection in the water, getting a few pictures of the two in the reflection.
Next to the back of the building. I knew there was a tree back there I wanted to work into some of the photos. I think in the fall when this tree changes color it would be amazing, but Daniele’s baby isn’t going to wait for that. We posed her in the middle of the dandelion field in front of the tree. I don’t usually like to shoot far away, but the tree was pretty cool, so I stepped back and cot a few. Then we got a few pictures under the gazebo and near the water and wrapped it up.
Thank you to the folks at Edgewater Acres for allowing us to take the photos on their beautiful grounds. It’s a great place for weddings, dinners, parties, class reunions and more. Great people to work with as well as I have been fortunate enough to dj many wedding there.
