Wedding – Nathan & Sierra
It’s wedding season again. This year it seems to be starting early, maybe because there is still snow on the grounds of the Lewistown Country Club. The LCC is where the wedding of Sierra and Nathan happened March 24th 2018. I was lucky enough to be given the chance to provide the photos for this event, and be the DJ. Yes it’s a lot to do in a day.
It was a beautiful sun filled day as we arrived around 2 in the afternoon. Luckily we had set up the dj equipment the previous day and got to run through the rehearsal with the entire wedding party. Although doing the DJ work and the Photography is a lot of work, being able to scout out things the night before is a big help. I was familiar with the room since I had been there before. I was a little worried about the big windows and where the sun would be during the wedding. It wasn’t too bad, but there were a few times I wish I would have had an assistant to hold a flash off camera.
Before the ceremony we took pictures of the groom and groomsmen, groom and bridesmaids and vise versa. We wanted to make the photos after the wedding as quick as possible.
The wedding started at 4 pm. My lovely wife assisted me with playing the songs requested by the couple for the ceremony, which allowed me to step out from behind the speakers. I did that after the wedding party and bride walked in. Because I was at the rehearsal the night before I knew how things were going to go. I didn’t know WHAT was going to be said in the exchange of vows. I should have known when walking in the bride already had tears in her eyes, the ceremony was going to be a tear jerker. It was. I hope i don’t say “it was beautiful” too much when I talk about these weddings, but it was.
Two of the most memorable moment of the ceremony had to be when Nathan took Sierra’s boy and promised him all the things he would do as his step dad. The boy cried, Sierra cried, everyone including the country club manager cried. It was a pretty awesome moment. The second was when Sierra went and changed into a shirt with the photo of a lost relative, and I am not 100% sure of the name, so I can’t say, but it was all tears when she got on the mic and talked about him.
Dinner was delicious and as in times before the Lewistown Country Club staff did an amazing job preparing and serving the some 140 guests. Thank you to Sierra, Nathan and everyone who allowed us to be a part of the day. I hope they love the pictures as much as I loved taking them.
